Below is the front panel.  Note the Rec Mode Switch and the USB/LSB options
Please be patient while the page loads.  I've posted  high resolution pictures, so each is about 500 meg.

Thanks for visiting my page.  Below are some pictures I've taken recently of my R-390A.   You will notice some interesting variations from the "stock" receiver.  Please feel free to share you're wisdom about anything you see here..especially the SSB mods.  My new wife to be and I just opened escrow  our new house (it closes at the end of September), so as soon as I get settled  and my shop set up, this will be my fisrt project.  If there is interest, I'll post more pictures as I go along

Enjoy the pictures!e

Here is the top view.  I have both covers for it, but it went withour the top cover for too long.  Pretty dirty.  A good cleaning is in order, but I just can't bring myself to give it the dishwasher treatmentClick here to add your text.

Here is the bottom view.  Note the extra module in the lower right corner.  It seems to contain a xtal controled BFO using a 6U8 tube.  Judging from the front panel, the fact that the wiring is neatly in the harness, and the look of the added module, I would guess its a professional (factory?) job.  Anyone have any history on this sort of mod?  The radio does not seem to have a product detector, or at least I haven't found it yet.
Here is a closeup of the added module.
Thanks for looking!  Feel free to drop me  a note.
